Yay first entry

This blog will be for my rantings about my own experience with synesthesia.

I realized that my senses were crossed wired about a year ago as of this posting. At least, I found out there was a word for it.

I perceive the world with spaces, movement, texture, weight, color and vibrations.

Any skill I have delved in is automatically wired to this experience, and I use this alternate cognitive perception to bolster the skill.

I see being a synesthete as a blessing and a curse. As a blessing, I can perceive something abstract and complicated as someone might experience a sculpture: raw and represented, absent of thought and merely as a perceived object. As a curse, I can sometimes explain something important only in its raw form, which is awkward, at best.

I'll be talking about numbers small and large, songs, paintings, foods, or pretty much anything I can think of that is an interesting enough experience to blog about.

Are you synesthetic? Do you experience things in colors or shapes or flavors or what? What's your story? If not, what questions do you have?

I want this blog to be public and get a real conversation going. Ideally the thread will be more interesting than the needle.
